Kristin Kroeger has worked in the mental health policy and advocacy arena for over 30 years. She currently serves as the Chief of Advocacy, Policy, and Practice Advancement for the American Psychiatric Association where she serves as the strategic leader for the association’s policy implementation and overall advocacy efforts before the White House and the Federal Executive Branch agencies, Congress, and State legislators and regulatory agencies. She is responsible for overseeing coordination and implementation of all policy priorities and programs, as well as build relationships with allied and external partners. Prior to APA, Ms. Kroeger was at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for 18 years where she served as AACAP’s Deputy Executive Director and Director of Government Affairs and Clinical Practice. She wore many hats, including developing internal and external policy, advocating to members of Congress and Federal Agencies, as well as working with leadership to built stronger relationships with allied organizations. Prior to working at AACAP, Ms. Kroeger worked in advocacy for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
