Dr. Becker is the Director of the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison (CL) Services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia Pa. She is also the Program Director for the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship. She has serves as the medical student clerkship site director for the CL rotation, and she has mentored and taught over 800 medical students in hospital and CL psychiatry over the past 12 years. Her areas of clinical expertise are general hospital psychiatry, graduate medical education and psychiatric treatment of women during the peri partum period. Dr Becker serves as a board member for the Academy of Consultation Liaison and also as the Vice Chair for the Education Subcommittee. She serves on the council for CL Psychiatry for the APA and is a member of the ACP. As an undergraduate at Drew University, Dr Becker double majored in Art and Psychology. She worked as an art therapist in a nursing home for several years while in graduate school. She has two Masters Degrees: one in Psychology from New York University and one in Clinical Health Psychology from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then obtained her medical degree from Jefferson Medical college and completed her residency in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.
