Dr. Fonseca is currently a PGY-4 chief resident in Psychiatry at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI. They are pursuing a career in academic medicine and advocacy for underserved populations, with special interests in cultural psychiatry, psychotherapy, medical ethics, and physician wellness. Following residency, Dr. Fonseca plans to complete a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, with a goal to learn more about transgender medicine, reproductive psychiatry, end-of-life psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and the neurobiological impact of trauma, stress, and hormonal changes.
