Dr. Austin MacKenzie currently serves as Associate Medical Director of the EmPATH unit and Behavioral Health Clinical Liaison with Emergency Care Specialists. Clinically, he provides care for patients at the Corewell Health Butterworth, Ludington, and Gerber emergency departments as well as in their dedicated behavioral health EmPATH unit. He believes that behavioral health is an essential aspect of high-quality emergency medical care. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Eastern Carolina University in 2022 and fellowship training in Behavioral Health Emergency Medicine in 2023. Dr. MacKenzie earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and his Doctor of Medicine at University of Illinois – Chicago. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and camping with his wife.
