Dr. Lancia works for the University of Illinois College of Medicine as a Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. He runs the consultation-liaison service and the acute teaching unit on the inpatient psychiatric floor. He is the medical director of the consultation-liaison service and the medical director of the Carle Health Behavioral Health Integrated Services of Hospital Based Programs (Methodist Campus). He was the president of the Illinois Psychiatric Society from 2023-2024 where he formed a Judicial Task Force and a Collaborative Care Task Force. The collaborative care task force successfully submitted a bill to help promote the expansion and acceptance of the Collaborative Care Model in Illinois; however, it failed acceptance yet. His work contributed to Illinois Medicaid adding billing codes in the state.
