Dr Guitelle St.Victor was born and raised in Haiti where she completed high school and college .She traveled to France and started medical school at the University of Montpellier and graduated from the University of Montemorelos School of Medicine.She completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at St.Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center , Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in NY.NY ,and her fellowship in Consultation -Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Hospital (LIJ Northwell ) in Glen Oaks ,NY.
She is the 6 th psychiatrist in her family ,speaks fluently four languages ,and presents nationally and internationally on various topics of mental health .She works at Nassau University Medical Center (East Meadow,NY ) as Clinical Assistant Director of CL Psychiatry , Clerkship Director in Psychiatry and Clinical Professor at the American University of the Caribbean. She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the Academy of CL Psychiatry for many years ..She is a recipient of the 2020 Nancy C.A. Roeske Award for “ Excellence in Medical Student Education “ . She teaches CL fellows, Psychiatry residents, Psychology Interns and Medical Students with whom she shares her love for CL Psychiatry and her passion for Women Mental Health , Neuropsychiatry and Cultural Psychiatry .
