Dr. James K. Rustad is a supervisory psychiatrist at Burlington Lakeside Community Based Outpatient Clinic (Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Service at the White River Junction VA Medical Center). Dr. Rustad is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Larner College of Medicine at University of Vermont, and a Fellow of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. Dr. Rustad received his B.S. from the University of Florida and his M.D. degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Following a residency in Adult Psychiatry at Jackson Memorial Hospital (in affiliation with the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami), he completed his Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine while serving as a Graduate Assistant and Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical and research interests include Brain Stimulation, Mood Disorders, PTSD, Geriatric Psychiatry, Catatonia, Opioid Use Disorder, and Primary Care-Mental Health Integration.
