Emily Gifford Holmes, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University before obtaining her MD/MPH from the University of North Carolina. She stayed on at UNC for residency in general adult psychiatry and fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry. At IU she is the Program Director of the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship and the Program Director for the Fairbanks Fellowship in Clinical Ethics. She is particularly interested in the convergence of psychiatric symptoms and medical illness, against medical advice discharge, and decision-making capacity.
