I'm a consult-liaison and transplant psychiatrist working with liver and kidney recipients as well as donors. I provide outpatient clinical care of transplant patients, donors and new transplant evaluations and consultation on the inpatient service to transplant patients as part of the Recanati/Miller Transplant Institute and participate in Transplant selection meetings, with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and emotional issues related to organ transplantation. I have worked with socioeconomically, ethnically, geographically and culturally diverse populations through training in India as well as New York, have been a part of various initiatives during training to promote awareness and fight bias based on sexuality, gender and gender identity among colleagues and while providing care to patients.
