Akhil Shenoy is an associate professor of psychiatry and director of transplant psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He specializes in the psychiatric clinical care of liver transplant recipients and their donors. His research focus include alcohol use disorder and other addictions in the context of alcohol-associated liver disease and the psychosocial outcomes of transplant. He is also interested in the psychosocial risks of organ donation and co-created the Live donor Assessment Tool (LDAT) to help standardize the psychosocial evaluation of the live kidney and liver donor.
