Dr. Timothy Kiong completed his medical education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, followed by a year of Internal Medicine training in Canada and a General Psychiatry residency at the University of Hawaii. Currently, he serves as an assistant clinical professor, with a focus in psycho-oncology at City of Hope. He has a particular interest in neruopsychiatry, exploring the use of ketamine in oncology patients and also looking at barriers to care among the Chinese-speaking population. Prior to joining City of Hope, he was an assistant professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and served as the Consultation-Liaison service lead at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield. He also held the role of associate program director for the general psychiatry residency program there. Dr. Kiong's professional interests include neuropsychiatry, psycho-oncology, and cultural barriers in medical care.
