Assistant Professor
UT Austin Dell Medical School
Austin, Texas
Gregory Ziomek was born in Chicago, IL, raised in Los Alamos, NM. He completed his bachelor's degree in biology at the University of New Mexico and later graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. In medical school, he took an interest in multiple specialties and found it difficult to pick just one. However, his Psychiatry rotations are where he found his home, appreciating the nuances of psychopathology and spectrum of treatments used in the field. He moved to Austin, TX, for the residency program at Dell Medical School. During residency, he quickly noticed that his Consult/Liaison Psychiatry rotations were the most fulfilling way to treat a wide variety of patients, especially with complex medical problems that require collaborating with teams of every specialty. His professional interests include bedside psychotherapy, neuromodulation, collaborative care, and teaching medical students and residents.
