Arslaan Ari Arshed, MD, MS, MHA, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, an attending on the Consult for Addiction Treatment and Care in the Hospital (CATCH) service at Bellevue Hospital, and an outpatient psychiatrist in the NYU Psychiatry Faculty Group Practice (FGP). Dr. Arshed completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland in 2010, earning a bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern History and Neurobiology. In 2016, he obtained his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University, along with master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Healthcare Administration. In 2020, he completed his adult psychiatry residency at Montefiore Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he served as chief resident. In 2021, he completed a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry fellowship at New York University and subsequently joined the CATCH consultation service at Bellevue Hospital, a New York City tertiary care center that serves a diverse, minoritized, and marginalized population. Dr. Arshed has published several academic papers on topics including racism and disparities in medicine and addiction, the use of anabolic-androgenic steroids among queer men, and gender-affirming care.
