Erin Sunderland completed her BSN with a research distinction from The Ohio State University and started as a Level four Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. From there she floated amongst pediatric critical care units. While at the bedside Erin became certified as a critical care registered nurse and worked on several evidence based evidence practice projects. In addition, she cofounded a journal club for bedside RNs. It was her time at the bedside that she developed a passion for the psychiatric needs of medically complex patients and pursued her Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at The Ohio State University. She started as an NP in the inpatient psychiatric facility at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and then transitioned to working primarily on consult liaison psychiatry. She is interested in psychiatric treatment of pediatric oncology and BMT patients.
