Dr. Haley McGowan is a dual board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Adult Psychiatrist and was appointed Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont in 2019. Her clinical expertise centers around acute care child psychiatry, including psychiatric consultation to inpatient pediatric medical services and the emergency department. In 2022, her role expanded to include Medical Directorship of the Child, Adolescent and Family Unit for the Vermont Department of Mental Health. With the goals of capacity building and bringing child psychiatry perspective to research around child development, childhood adversity and pediatric mental health, she joined in 2022 as a co-investigator for the Vermont IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network (ISPCTN) site, one of 18 sites in the network for the NIH Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program.
