Madeline Brown is a third-year medical student at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. Her clinical interests include community psychiatry and combined psychiatry and internal medicine/family medicine training programs. Her extra-clinical interests lie in policy and health systems improvement. She is currently receiving a Master's Degree in Public Policy, also from Duke University. Her policy interests center on improving individual and community well-being by focusing on whole-person care that addresses social needs in addition to medical ones and includes the integration of behavioral and physical health services, expansion of access to high-value behavioral health services in the safety net, and provision of behavioral health services in non-clinical community settings including carceral facilities and homeless shelters.
