Dr. Deanna Chaukos is a Consultation/Liaison psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Hospital, and Assistant professor at the University of Toronto, Temerty Faculty of Medicine. She completed her MD at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, residency in adult psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital, and fellowship in Consultation Liaison psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her clinical expertise includes psychiatric care of patients in medical settings, with an emphasis on Geriatrics and HIV psychiatry. She is the Physician Lead for Medical Psychiatry at Sinai Health. She is the Associate Program Director for the University of Toronto Psychiatry Residency, one of the largest residency programs in Psychiatry in North America (>200 residents), and leads portfolios including assessment, resident wellbeing, and resident leader mentorship. Dr Chaukos engages in education research that aims to elucidate how we effectively prepare healthcare workers for future uncertain practice, including the development of adaptive expert abilities and integrative competencies.
