Noha Abdel Gawad, MD, is a Staff Psychiatrist at University Health Network specializing in adult and consultation-liaison (CL) psychiatry. She earned her Medical Degree from Cairo University and completed her residency and fellowship training at University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston and George Washington University respectively, becoming board certified in both adult psychiatry and CL psychiatry.
She plays an integral role in the liver transplant clinic, offering psychiatric support to transplant patients. Moreover, she actively contributes to the Mental Health in Medicine Clinic, a pioneering initiative at UHN aiming to integrate mental health services into outpatient medical care.
Beyond her clinical duties, Dr. Abdel Gawad is a direct supervisor of international fellows at University of Toronto’s CL fellowship program. Her commitment extends to mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, ensuring excellence in clinical care and engagement in academic projects.
Passionate about psychoeducation and improving access to care, Dr. Abdel Gawad is dedicated to enhancing mental health literacy and breaking down barriers to treatment. Over the past 3 years, she developed and delivered a lecture series to the Hepatitis C Network, focusing on psychiatric topics relevant to liver care.
