Dr. Theodote K. Pontikes is the program director of the Psychiatry residency at Loyola University Medical Center and is a faculty member of the Stritch School of Medicine, where she is currently an Associate Professor. Dr. Pontikes is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. She has experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings and as part of a multidisciplinary care team. She has also completed fellowship training in Clinical Medical Ethics and is experienced in systems-of-care, with a MBA degree in Health Care Management.
Dr. Pontikes is a Distinguished Fellow of both the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association and is a fellow of the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. She is especially interested in interdisciplinary collaboration and integrated care for pediatric and adult patient populations; in transcultural issues and the reduction of healthcare disparities; in patient advocacy; patient safety and healthcare policy; and in medical education and mentorship.
