Dr. Brandstetter graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Psychology. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She then completed residency training in General Psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. During her residency, she served as Resident Council Co-president her second and third years, and as head chief resident her fourth year. She received the McLaughlin award, presented to one resident at graduation for outstanding achievements during residency. After residency, she completed a Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. Following her fellowship, she accepted a position of faculty at UHCMC, working on the inpatient consult-liaison service and outpatient in psycho-oncology and general psychosomatic medicine clinics. She is also has an appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is involved with both resident and medical student education.
Dr. Brandstetter is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She also has a faculty appointment at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. Currently, she is the program director for the Consult Liaison Psychiatry fellowship. She works in the Psycho-oncology outpatient clinic as well as clinical lead for the Consult-Liaison Inpatient service.
