Dr Astill-Vaccaro is C-L psychiatrist whose special interests include: patients with cancer, and especially finding ways to help a multidisciplinary team care for them without adding to the trauma of their diagnosis and treatments; patients with neurocognitive diseases, as well as patients with complex and chronic psychiatric disease and complex medical comorbidities. She completed a C-L psychiatry fellowship at UVM in 1990 and, after directing the C-L service at UVM for 2 years, moved to a network hospital in a very rural setting in the northern most part of New York State to begin a consultation psychiatry service and in 1995 initiated a C-L psychiatry clinic within the community cancer center. She is Medical Director and Specialty Leader of psychiatry at CVPH Medical Center, a UVM network hospital.
