Dr. Bibiana Susaimanickam hails from the south of India and completed her medical degree at the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangalore, India. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Susaimanickam completed her psychiatry residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and served as chief resident. Thereafter, she completed a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Additionally, she completed a fellowship in Consultation liaison Psychiatry at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Her training at MSKCC focused on both adult and pediatric patients with cancer and other highly complex medical issues. She is one of only a handful of pediatric psycho-oncologists in the city. She was awarded “Jimmie Holland Award for Excellence” by a Clinical Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Center during her fellowship.
After this she was an Attending Physician at BronxCare Health System in the South Bronx, New York since 2019 and served as Medical Director of the Child Study Center at BronxCare, as well as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine until June 2023 and currently serves as adjunct faculty in Bronxcare involved in education of residents.
Currently she is the Director of Promoveo Psychiatry and Wellness in South Florida, in a private practice setting.
She also has special interests in trauma informed care, psycho-oncology and resident education.
