Dr. Gopalan is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Reproductive Sciences, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, Chief of Psychiatry for Magee-Womens Hospital, and Medical Director of the Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service across 9 of the hospitals in the UPMC system. She has also been one of the faculty directors for the psychiatry residency’s Academic Administrator Clinician Educator (AACE) track since 2014. She is a faculty co-advisor to the Reproductive Psychiatry and Women’s Mental Health Area of Concentration at Western Psychiatric Hospital and has been active in programmatic development around CL psychiatry, perinatal mental health, and subspecialty integrated care. She is on the National Curriculum for Reproductive Psychiatry education committee. Her interests include CL psychiatry, health care administration, resident education, perinatal mental health including perinatal addiction/dual diagnosis and trauma-related disorders.
