Rachel Madary is a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Trauma Professional graduating from Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work in New York. Rachel has over a decade of professional experience working in homeless outreach, the foster care system, outpatient psychiatric clinics and inpatient medical units. Currently, Rachel is the psychiatric social worker for a newly founded position with New York Presbyterian's Consulting Liaison Psychiatry Unit and the Burn Intensive Care Unit. Over the past year Rachel has successfully developed this new hybrid role as an embedded social worker; providing acute psychotherapy services, outpatient referrals and interdepartmental coordination with the aim to improving patient’s inpatient care and securing lasting outpatient treatment once discharged to the community.
