Dr. Bernard Sarmiento is a first-year (PGY-1) psychiatry resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital / McLean Hospital Psychiatry Residency Program. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Sarmiento spent most of my life in Florida and Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University, before receiving both my medical degree (MD) and master's in business administration (MBA) at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. His scholarly and clinical interests include consultation-liaison psychiatry, interventional psychiatry, and clinician education. Within consultation-liaison psychiatry, he has specific interests in spirituality, catatonia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, and psycho-oncology.
