Dr. Clayton earned a BA with honors in College of Letters (Literature, History, and Philosophy) from Wesleyan University. She then worked in the Office of the Clinical Director at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she was mentored by Drs. Joyce Chung and Maryland Pao. Dr. Clayton attended medical school at the Tufts University School of Medicine. During that time she researched at the MGH Center for Women's Mental Health, specifically with Dr. Ruta Nonacs on www.womensmentalhealth.org. Dr. Clayton is currently a psychiatry PGY4 at Montefiore Medical Center where she serves as chief resident of the Consult Liaison Service. She presented a poster on palliative psychiatry at ACLP 2023 and was the recipient of a Trainee Travel Award. She plans to purse a CL fellowship following residency graduation.
