Dr. Beresford 1) directs the Laboratory for Clinical and Translational Research in Psychiatry, Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center and School of Medicine, University of Colorado, (RMRVAMC/SOM-UC), 2) chairs the Medicine-Science Committee and is a Member, Board of Directors, of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dep. (NCADD), 3) directs Strategic Planning for the RMRVAMC Research Service, a first ever position at RMRVAMC, 4) serves as Editor-In Chief of a new scholarly journal with Cambridge University Press, 5) has authored over 150 peer reviewed scientific publications , and 6) received many millions of dollars in research grant funding over his career, including current funding. He is the recipient of the 2024 Begleiter Award for Research from the Research Society on Alcohol. He is a Professor of Psychiatry with tenure at the University of Colorado's School of Medicine in Aurora Colorado.
