My Phuong Tong, MD is currently a 3rd year psychiatry resident at Loma Linda University in Southern California. She graduated medical school from Michigan State University where she was involved in the Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved track. She is interested in working with adults and treating addiction. She believes in the importance of holistic care, addressing not only the symptoms of addiction but also the underlying psychological and social factors contributing to it.
Dr. Tong is also committed to serving the underserved, recognizing the disparities in access to mental healthcare. As a Vietnamese immigrant, she is particularly interested in increasing access to mental health for Asian communities.
As she progresses through her residency, Dr. Tong remains dedicated to expanding her knowledge and skills in psychiatry. She will be serving her residency program as a chief resident in her final year of training.
