Instructor
Northwestern University - Feinberg School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences
I am currently an Instructor within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences with my application for Assistant Professor
currently under review. I specialize in the mental health care of LGBTQ individuals, with particular emphasis on
promoting equitable and affirming care for gender diverse individuals and increasing medical knowledge
around LGBTQ mental health care, both through scholarly work and medical education initiatives in
undergraduate and graduate medical education. I currently serve as a core teaching faculty with clinical roles
on our inpatient psychiatry unit and in our outpatient psychiatry clinic where I supervise medical students,
psychiatry trainees, and psychology trainees in the care of LGBTQ patients. I created, lead, and supervise both
the outpatient Gender Clinic, which provides gender-affirming mental health evaluations for individuals
undergoing surgery as part of Northwestern’s Gender Pathways Program (GPP), and the Pride Clinic, a novel,
specialty clinic led by psychiatry trainees focused on providing behavioral health services to the LGBTQ
population. In my role as a medical educator, I place emphasis on designing and implementing curriculum
related to the mental health of LGBTQ individuals, including as a course director for the LGBTQ Mental Health
psychiatry trainee didactics course and leading lectures for various trainees on topics related to gender
incongruence and gender and sexuality development. In my work with the GPP, I am part of a multidisciplinary,
inter-departmental program centered on providing evidence-based care to the gender diverse community with
regular meetings for collaboration on clinical care and research
