Yucera Salman is a second-year psychiatry resident at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC. They completed medical school at the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine in Memphis, TN and originally hail from the middle Tennessee region. They aspire to primarily serve the Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) patient population through their career. Dr. Salman harbors a diverse set of clinical interests ranging from neuromodulation and forensics to LGBT+ and trauma-informed clinical care. They were selected as a 2020 APA/APAF Medical Student Travel Scholarship recipient and served as co-president of their medical school’s campus-wide LGBT+ student organization in addition to completing a research project to determine the impact of ACEs on truancy rates in Shelby County public school students. They are a current member of MSBI’s Wellness Committee in which they liaison with administration to implement trainee wellness initiatives. Dr. Salman currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with their husband and two cats.
