Dr. Barnhill is the kidney transplant psychiatrist at NYP/Weill Cornell; at that hospital, he has also worked as the heart transplant psychiatrist, as director of house staff mental health, as chief of the inpatient consultation service, and as vice chair for C-L within the psychiatry department. For the past 20 years, he has directed psychiatry at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He is a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Rockefeller University. He is currently the chair of the ethics committee at the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center and is an adjunct clinical professor of psychiatry at Columbia’s medical school. He has edited multiple books, most recently DSM-5-TR Clinical Cases and the second edition of the Approach to the Psychiatric Patient.
