Dr Bienvenu trained in psychiatry, psychiatric epidemiology, and clinical investigation at Johns Hopkins, where he has been on the faculty since 1997. His background is in anxiety disorders, and he reengaged with consultation-liaison psychiatry because of an interest in psychiatric morbidity in critical illness survivors in the mid 2000s. Dr Bienvenu is currently the Judy Yin Shih, PhD Professor in Anxiety Disorders at Johns Hopkins.
