I am a hematologist who specializes in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). I have a particular interest in AML and MDS that has developed because of another cancer or cancer treatment, termed secondary or treatment-related AML and MDS. I am passionate about taking care of patients with these types of cancers because these diagnoses can often upend a patient’s life, and it’s my job to support them through their diagnosis and cancer treatment. My research involves drug development and novel therapeutics for patients with AML and MDS, which I pursue through laboratory investigation and clinical trials. My work has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as Blood Advances, Genes and Blood.
