Ming Hwei Yek, PsyD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She received her Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from Baylor University in 2019. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Indiana University School of Medicine and a clinical health psychology postdoctoral fellowship at University of Florida. Her clinical expertise is in Transplant Psychology, and she has extensive experience working in multidisciplinary transplant teams of various organ types, including heart, lung, liver, and kidney. Currently, Dr. Yek provides psychological assessment and intervention services as part of the UAMS kidney and liver transplant teams. Her clinical and research interests focus on increasing access to mental health care for post-transplant patients, relapse prevention for transplant patients with alcohol-related liver disease, and cognitive functioning in transplant patients. She is also an active member of the American Society of Transplantation and the Society for Health Psychology.
