Resident
BronxCare Psychiatry
Hi, I'm a psychiatry resident at BronxCare Health System in New York. I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario Canada, where I grew up immersed in the performing arts of theater and acapella singing and attended O’Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute. It was there that I had the opportunity to experience a cooperative education placement in the local pediatrics ward and NICU at Lakeridge Health where I worked with gender diverse children and youth. I took a liking to psychology in my undergraduate degree, where I studied gender, culture, sexuality, and feministic perspectives in social sciences, ultimately completing a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in psychology at the University of Ottawa. I pursued my passion of studying medicine abroad at St. George’s University in the Global Scholars Program where I lived and studied in Newcastle, England and eventually in Grenada, West Indies. In medicine I took a liking to the intersectionality between psychiatry, and medicine, and unique challenges of psychiatric patients who also have medical co-morbidities. Today, I combine my interests of disseminating literacy in mental health with collaborative care, and helping underserved populations in my psychiatry residency at BronxCare. I enjoy the four seasons of the North East, chatting your ear off, and spending time with family, friends, and my dog, eh!
