University of Colorado School of Medicine
Elizabeth Garcia Creighton is a third-year medical student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She attended Lawrence University in Appleton, WI for her undergraduate education where she majored in Biology and Biochemistry. After graduation, Elizabeth moved to Dallas, Texas where she was a Spanish medical interpreter at Agape Clinic--a donation-based clinic in Dallas. At Agape, she interpreted for many subspecialties including psychiatry. Throughout medical school training, Elizabeth has strongly focused her research efforts on improving the care for vulnerable populations and raising awareness of health care disparities. Her passion and dedication to bettering the care of underserved populations has led Elizabeth to study immigrant populations, prison populations, uninsured populations, and neglected tropical diseases. Within the realm of psychiatry, Elizabeth is specifically interested in bettering the care of vulnerable populations including those with substance use disorders, transient housing, and prison populations.
