Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist
University of Colorado School of Medicine, Colorado State University Campus
Dr. Shirazi is an early-career, board-certified CL psychiatrist, practicing exclusively inpatient consultation psychiatry within the UCHealth/University of Colorado system, in the northern region. Having completed medical school, residency and fellowship at the University of Colorado, he was happy to retain academic ties to that system and remain involved in administrative and teaching roles. One of Dr. Shirazi's recent endeavors has been taking more leadership in medical student teaching, at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Colorado State University branch, based in Fort Collins. This includes basic science lecturing, clinical lecturing, and extensive work with medical students on clerkship rotations, serving as the co-liaison for the Department of Psychiatry within this branch of the CU Medical School. In this role, Dr. Shirazi has enjoyed working with medical students in a busy clinical practice and extolling the exciting nature of CL work. Two of his former students are submitting an abstract along with guidance from Dr. Shirazi, hoping to be a larger part of the meeting this year.
