Erika Escalona Tejeda was born in Cuba and moved to the United States, where she completed high school. She excelled in her studies and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Central Florida, developing a strong foundation in the field. After graduation, Erika volunteered at a local family medicine clinic, gaining valuable clinical skills and medical knowledge.
Erika began medical school at the American University of the Caribbean, where she immersed herself in medical science and engaged with the Global Health Interest Group, contributing to various community outreach activities.
Currently, Erika is completing her clinical rotations at Nassau University Medical Center. There, she has the privilege of working directly with patients from diverse backgrounds, witnessing firsthand the profound impact healthcare providers can have on patients' lives.
