Albulena Ajeti, a native of Kosovo, continued her educational journey in the U.S. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and biology from Syracuse University and her graduate degree in biomedical sciences at Drexel University. She completed her medical school education at the University of the Caribbean. Currently, she is a resident at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC).
Before medical school, Albulena researched at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, focusing on renal clear cell carcinoma as a research specialist. She presented her findings on mTOR research at the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Demonstrating commitment to research, she later joined the University of Pennsylvania, where she explored treatment options involving direct-acting antiviral agents for hepatitis C in renal transplant recipients.
Throughout her medical school tenure, Albulena dedicated herself to diverse research, such as COVID-19-related brain fog, substance use anxiety, and AMA (Against Medical Advice), as well as school truancy, during her time at NUMC. She's presented her research findings at conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association, Medscape Live Psychiatry Update, and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. Albulena Ajeti's academic and research journey reflects her commitment to advancing medical knowledge and addressing issues in psychiatry and healthcare.
